Ephemeral hotel in Rome built with litter from Italy’s beaches

Hansel and Gretel took refuge in a house made of sweets, and our Spanish blogger Víctor Alonso shows us a hotel made from only litter (12 tons) recovered from the beaches of Italy. Built by Roman environmentalists, it calls attention to the problem of pollution of our beaches.
Every day the presence of rubbish on the coasts and beaches in Europe is more noticeable. In an effort to raise awareness, Rome has built an amazing hotel from 11.800 kg of litter collected at different beaches throughout Italy.
The building is located in front of Castel Sant’Angelo, in Rome and according to the website promoting this initiative, this construction aims to raise awareness of how little we care for our beaches.
The project, which was created under the name “Save the Beach Hotel” allows us (via the website previously mentioned) to know which beaches appear on this dirt “black list” and points out those considered to be in the worst condition.
